"The Markha valley trek is one of the most popular treks in Ladakh. This trek passes through beautiful villages tucked in the deep valley surrounded by towering mountains. The high pass of Kongmaru La offers spectacular views of the Kang Yatse peaks. You can stay in homestays throughout the trek except nimaling camp and it’s an excellent opportunity to discover the everyday life of locals. Markha is part of the Hemis National Park, This trek from Sara is a shorter and easier version of the Markha valley trek."
Day 1: Sara (3550m) to Markha (3760m).

"Starting the trek from Sara to skip the road markha is a pretty village with just around 20 households. You can visit the old monastery and the ruined fort which are above the village."
Day 2: Markha (3760m) to Hankar (4030m).

"Walk along the river, you can visit Techa gompa which is built on a cliff near Umlung village."
Day 2: Hankar (4030m) to Nimaling Camp (4850m).
Time: 5-6 hrs

"The path starting from Hankar village leads you to Nimaling camp passing through Thchungtse (4376m) where villagers bring their cattle for grazing during summer."
Day 3: Nimaling (4850m) to Shang Sumdo (3680m) via Kongmaru La (5250m).
